Tom Hall, well known to many collectors and dealers in the 1970s through 1990s, had a long career as a violinist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and got to travel the world for 40 years. In the process, he pursued his passion and interest in mineral collecting.
These "balls" started coming out in January, from one reliable source of mine who works directly with miners at Tonglushan (literally "Green Copper Mountain" in Mandarin), which by the way is also the world's oldest continuous working copper mine.
